‘Sunshine & Chocolate’ at Edgewater Gallery’s First Friday Event for May
Edgewater Gallery’s First Friday celebration on May 6 will feature the opening of north coast artist
Sunshine Taylor’s mixed media show titled “Callas on My Mind,” and a chocolate truffle-tasting presented by Shelley Fields of Wicked Bonbon.
Edgewater Gallery is at 356 North Main St. near Laurel, and the First Friday event is from 5-8 p.m. Chocolates, produced in Fort Bragg, will be available for purchase as a possible Mothers’ Day gift or for your personal enjoyment.
Taylor’s show highlights her “signature” paintings since she’s lived on the verdant Pacific Coast -- the white glowing Calla lilies that pop up everywhere imaginable. Her sophistication and skill in rendering the stately flowers has continued to flourish over her years of living amongst the tall, swaying beauties.
In addition to the chocolate truffle-tasting, wine and light refreshments will be served at the opening. Edgewater Gallery, established in 2003, is an artist-owned cooperative of 17 artists that also features guest artists each month. Paintings, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture and other creations are featured at the gallery, open from 10-5 daily.
